Donner Ski Ranch

Among the oldest and most iconic ski areas in the Western U.S., Donner Ski Ranch is a family-friendly resort that features a wide variety of terrain, inviting skiers and riders of all abilities to enjoy the fully-featured mountain oasis. China Peak

China Peak Mountain Resort is located only 65 miles northeast of Fresno at scenic Huntington Lake in the Sierra National Forest. The mountain has 1,679 feet of vertical with a base elevation of 7,030 and a peak at just over 8,700 feet. The resort offers seven chairlifts, a T-Bar and three moving carpets for the beginner skiers and snowboarders.

Now locally owned and operated, China Peak Mountain Resort provides a big Sierra experience close to home – with total acreage, elevations, vertical rise and terrain comparable to many Lake Tahoe resorts.

Boreal

Located on Interstate 80 along Lake Tahoe, Boreal Mountain Resort is one of the easiest resorts to access from Northern California and Nevada. Boasting almost 80% snowmaking coverage, Boreal is one of the first Lake Tahoe resorts to open each winter. The mountain averages 400 inches of snowfall per season alongside 240 days of sunshine a year. The resort is home to family friendly terrain combined with more advanced intermediate trails. The resort is known for having a great atmosphere and provides spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

Bear Valley

Bear Valley is a friendly and relaxing High Sierra escape located in the beautiful Central Sierra Mountains. Badger Pass

Badger Pass dubs itself the original ski resort in Northern California. Since it's opening in 1935, Badger Pass has been a family favorite ski resort, with a variety of guest services offered in a stress free environment. Badger Pass prides itself on their affordable ski and snowboard instruction, rental equipment and ski shop, childcare and on-mountain cafeteria and lounge. The ski area also features one of the best sundecks in the Sierra Nevada, allowing guests to fully enjoy the California sunshine.

Alta Sierra

The Alta Sierra Ski Resort is located approximately one hour from Bakersfield, California, in the Southern most tip of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The Resort is 7000 ft. in elevation and the weather can get very cold. You will want to dress in layers, with a water resistant jacket, pants, shoes or boots. We recommend that everyone participating in a snow related activity consider wearing a helmet. We offer a small selection of rental helmets on a first come first serve basis.

Arizona Snowbowl

Opened in 1938, the Arizona Snowbowl, located near Flagstaff, is one of the longest running resorts in the West having been open for 75 years. Located on the San Francisco Peaks with a stunning view of Agassiz Peak, skiers and riders have access to 777 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 2,300 feet. Six chairs service the area where the terrain rating is 40% beginner, 42% intermediate and 21% advanced, and freestylers will find the Sunset Terrain Park a good place to practice on the boxes.

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe

Mt. Rose is Lake Tahoe's closest skiing and riding to Reno and the Reno-Tahoe Airport. It's 25 minutes from Reno and 10 minutes from Lake Tahoe's north shore.
Good powder skiing and The Chutes (for serious skiers and riders) is thanks to Lake Tahoe's highest base area at 8,260 feet. This leads to 1,200 acres of skiing on 1,800 vertical feet.
Mt. Rose is an excellent choice for the first or last days of a Lake Tahoe vacation, or for those staying in Reno and enjoying nightlife in “The Biggest Little City in the World.”
